Every participant got to know one another after the ice breaking games. They have so much fun with Evolution game and realized that being born as human is rare.

Later, the participants were shown around Ariya Vihara to familiarise themselves with the environment and the places to keep their things properly. Then followed by the Dhamma session in their respective classroom according to their age group.

Gratitude to the parents … Thanks Mummy and Daddy

Sigalovada Sutta: DN 31.

In five ways one should minister to one’s parents:

-Having supported me, I shall support them.
-I shall do their duties.
-I shall keep up the honour and the traditions of my family.
-I shall make myself worthy of my heritage.
-I shall make offerings dedicating the goodness of my practice to my parents after their death.

Today I shall be The Master of The Ceremony…

We rejoiced with their active participation and interaction. We will meet again for the next session on 5th March 2023.

Sadhu. Sadhu. Sadhu.

SADHU SADHU SADHU

ARK program was the first core program started by Ariya Vihara Buddhist Society after the Society was established in August 2015.  ARK is a dynamic Family Dhamma Education program. It helps the family to live by the Dhamma, cultivate virtues and wholesome culture. It is compulsory for one of the parents to attend the program with their children.

ARK adopts a different approach from a Dhamma Sunday school which follows the standard Buddhist text books. It derives the content of teaching from the Pali Nikaya and the Buddha’s wisdom in teaching the Dhamma. ARK also adopts method of teaching based on Harvard Garner’s Multiple Intelligences and incorporate duty and responsibilities for each and every one in the program. The hands-on approach includes interactive and proactive activities such as public speaking, meditation, storytelling, mindful exercise, education games, role playing, hymn singing, Dhamma camp, art & craft, nature outing, drama and charity service. These activities give participants a deeper perspective of Dhamma and its practically in daily life.

Program. The ARK program is held on first and third Sundays from 8.30 am to 1:00pm. The family will offer lunch Dana to the sangha after the Dhamma lesson ended at 11:30am and will proceed for lunch and cleaning.
